Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-12-14T02:00Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-12-14T02:00:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: S16W24
Active Region Number: 13922
Note Keyword:
DFL: Likely deflection of the event within the FOV
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
PRM: Prominence material (filamentary structures)
Source Signature Keyword:
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
BR: Brightening
Morphology Keyword:
O: Other
Note: Fast, thin CME seen to the SSE in all coronagraphs. The source appears to be a small filament eruption from AR 3922 (S16W24), best observed in GOES SUVI 304 starting around 2024-12-14T01:28Z, which then deflects sharply southward after erupting. This eruption is notably close to the CME start time, but it is the best candidate and the filament shape in GOES SUVI aligns visually with the coronagraph signature.

Triangulated measurement between SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO COR2A. CME starts smaller than a 10 HW, expanding wider further into the FOV, and is notably deflected southward from the source region as corroborated in GOES SUVI. |
